Reatha Audine Harris, 94, of Raytown, MO, passed away July 18, 2010, at Masonic Home of Missouri.
Reatha was born September 9, 1915 in Dardanelle, Arkansas to John and Minnie (Pratt) Parks. After high school, she worked in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and during WWII she worked at Sunflower Ordinance in DeSoto, KS, where she met and married Raymond E. Palmer. To this union came her only child, Raymond L. Palmer. She worked for many years at Katz Drugstore, and several other retail stores. In 1967 she wed Elbert M. "Al" Harris and they enjoyed many happy years of travel, gardening, church, and family, until his death in 1984. In October of 2009 she entered The Masonic Home of Missouri, where she was loved and cared for in her final months.
Survivors include her son, Raymond L. Palmer of Raytown, MO, four nieces, a step-son, Bob (Jean) Palmer of Independence, MO, a step-daughter, Patricia Palmer of Cartersville, MO, and many other extended family members and good friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Grace Hospice and the Visiting Angels for their gentile care of Reatha in her final days.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 21st, 1-2 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM, at Floral Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Masonic Home of Missouri, Kansas City or to One Spirit United Methodist Church.
